The King…The name of this painting was probably originated when I was a youngster by my mother Roma whom would always say as we rounded the corner in Oak creek Canyon…”there’s the king.”  I had no clue what she was talking about.  Years later I finally realized that the crowned page-boy haired king with his back to the viewer was sitting on a throne regally watching over his mountain range.  I have no idea what this range is actually called because my mother had already named it and it remains to be called “The King” to this day.
